Cooking or Burning: Vaping vs Smoking Weed in Mississauga

House of Cannabis Stores in Toronto Want to Help You Make the Right Decision for You

Ever since weed delivery in Mississauga for any legal cannabis products has been allowed in Ontario, it's become easier than ever to get all your favourite items delivered directly to your home.

More than that, the market has exploded with hundreds of new products, and it can be a nightmare (especially for new cannabis users) trying to sort through the ocean of cannabis stuff for weed delivery in Mississauga.

But don't worry - House of Cannabis stores in Toronto are here to help you sort through the chaotic marketplace, so that you can find products that will provide you with your perfect cannabis experience.

Before we get to the pros and cons, let's talk a bit about the differences between smoking and vaping.

The Difference Between Smoking & Vaping

The biggest difference between smoking and vaping cannabis products is that one is essentially burning your cannabis (smoking), while the other is cooking the active ingredients out of your cannabis products (vaping).

Both methods allow you to take advantage of the active chemicals in the cannabis plant (i.e., THC, CBD, CBN, etc.) through their respective smoke/vapor, and those active cannabinoids are then absorbed through our lungs, where it begins to be metabolized by your body's cannabinoid system.

It's also important to note that there are actually two distinct types of vaporizing that you can do with cannabis products: raw flower vaporizing and cannabis oils/distillates vaporizing, which is more commonly found in the form of vape pens and cartridges.

Raw flower weed vaporizers just require ground flower to function, while reusable vape pens and cartridges require compatible cartridges to fit specific pens. Some vape pens and cartridges are even entirely disposable.

Pros & Cons

Before we start talking about the pros and cons of smoking vs vaping, it's important to note that no form of inhalation is healthy for cannabis use.

Eventually, vaping and smoking can have negative impacts on our respiratory health, especially if they're being done daily or multiple times a day.

Moderation is key, as well as understanding the risks that come along with smoking or vaping any substance, even cannabis. Bear this in mind the next time you order weed delivery in Mississauga for cannabis products - vaporized or raw flower.

It’s also very important to note that House of Cannabis is passionate about cannabis products, but we’re not doctors. We’re going to discuss this very generally, because we’re not qualified (or allowed) to make medical recommendations relating to cannabis.

If you really want to talk about the health-related impacts of smoking vs vaping, talk to your doctor, who will have the freedom and expertise to help you make the right health choices for yourself.

The Pros of Smoking Cannabis

This is the most traditional form of cannabis use, which is dried, cured raw cannabis flower. It can be purchased by volume of raw flower, or you can even buy pre-rolled joints that are sold conveniently ready to smoke.

For new cannabis users, this tends to be the most approachable option (outside of edibles and cannabis drinks that don't require any inhalation). It’s also relatively easy-to-use, and there’s a very low learning curve to getting started.

The Cons of Smoking Cannabis

Just like tobacco or other smokable substances, there are a number of health concerns that have been raised through studies, especially when considering long-term or chronic cannabis use.

While there are less carcinogens in cannabis than certain other smokables, eventually long-term use could have a negative impact on a user’s respiratory system.

Nothing conclusive has been determined yet, but there have also been some studies that claim other long-term issues resulting from chronic cannabis smoking, but these studies are still being done.

The Pros of Vaping

Many people believe that vaping could potentially be safer/healthier for our respiratory system than smoking, but this theory hasn't been firmly proven yet.

There are also some that believe that vaping products removes concerns about some of the carcinogens in cannabis, but since there has never been a study that has conclusively linked cannabis to cancer, this may be a moot point.

It is believed that vaping raw flower could potentially be easier on our respiratory system than smoking raw flower, especially in chronic users. However, this same logic doesn't appear to apply to vaping oils or distillates.

The Cons of Vaping

The science behind the effects of long-term vaping on our lungs is still unclear, and there has been some negative feedback from users specifically relating to black market vape pens and cartridges that use cannabis oils and distillates.

This is why it's absolutely crucial that you only purchase vape pens and cartridges from legal cannabis stores in Ontario that are selling vape cartridges that have been manufactured under the Government of Canada's strict safety guidelines. With black market cartridges you'll have no idea what kinds of repercussions could occur.

In fact, there have been some studies that have begun to link certain types of off-market vaporizers to a condition called 'popcorn lung', where the chemicals in their vape cartridges are actually burning tiny holes in the lungs of vapers.

As you can see, this is no joke. It's vital that you ensure you're always getting your vape cartridges from reputable businesses, so you can avoid any unnecessary health risks above what you’re already taking by using an inhalant.

We're happy to offer our customers the safest vape pens and cartridges for weed delivery in Mississauga, or any cannabis products from other categories that you may be interested in.
